Did you attend The Sewing Summit?
The first annual Sewing Summit was held earlier this month. Amy Ellis of Amys Creative Side and author of Modern Basics and Erin Singleton of Two More Seconds were the creative forces who put the entire weekend together. I was happy and honored to be a sponsor for the conference. Unfortunately I was unable to attend the festivities but I’ve been blog-hopping catching up on everything that went down. You can read many recaps here: TSS RECAPS
One of my contributions to the weekend was sewing up 250 lanyards for all the attendees to wear and attach their name tags to. I want to say thank you to each of you that have sent me emails over the past few weeks thanking me for the lanyards. I had no idea they would be such a hit. Here are a few lanyard sightings:

Looks like a very successful weekend and I am very sorry that I missed it BUT no worries, Amy & Erin are already busy planning The Sewing Summit for 2012. Hope to see you there

Kaleidoscope Quilt Kit in Chelsea
Here is another beautiful quilt sample being displayed in the shop!
Maria from Beautiful Blooms did an outstanding job putting this sample together. She used fabric from
the Chelsea Collection and the Kaledidoscope Quilt pattern by Cluck. Cluck. Sew.
Like it so much you want to make one for yourself? GREAT – I have made up some Quilt Kits HERE.
Kingdom by Jessica Levitt
From JUICY BITS (Jessica Levitt’s blog)
”As the name implies, it is inspired by elements you’d find in and around an imaginary royal kingdom. I kept with my favorite Art Nouveau influences, but this time it’s a bit more playful and bright.”
Ann from Renegade Quilter made up a sample of the Chain Reaction quilt from Cluck. Cluck. Sew
Isn’t it gorgeous? She did an exceptional job on this quilt top. It is on display in my shop and has gotten MANY compliments from my customers.
Here is a closer look.
This collection is currently available in my shop.
Congratulations to THE WINNER!
Julie of Chicken Julie
her Selvedge Quilt was a big hit with the voters
From Julie’s Blog:
“The quilt was made using string squares 8″ squares, 80 in all, that are sashed in Kona Navy. On average, each square has about 14 selvages, which means that I used upwards of 1,100 strips of selvage. The flannel backing is All Star Blue Dots by Riley Blake. Binding is Alexander Henry’s Raindrop Stripe.”
Julie is the winner of a $50.00 gift certificate that can be used in either of my online shops!
Thank you to everyone who entered their Selvedge Projects. They are all gorgeous and winners in my book.

Let’s Vote – Selvedge Challenge
June’s Show & Tell Challenge is all about SELVEDGES.
You know, the edge of your fabric that usually contains designer information. It also prevents the fabric from fraying. Most of you probably cut them off and throw them away. But there are many of us out there who save them and find crafty ways to use them.
These ladies have worked incredibly hard on their projects and are asking you to vote for your favorite project pictured above. The winner will receive a $50 gift certificate to my shop – cool right? Voting is simple – leave a comment with the number that corresponds to your favorite project!
